CareerMoxie Advisor

The CareerMoxie Kickstart program consists of 5 one-hour one-on-one sessions with a qualified CareerMoxie Advisor at a time that is convenient for you. The CareerMoxie DISC Profile and the complete set of CareerMoxie Guidebooks are included in the total package price. All participants will finish the course with a polished and professional resume, an elevator pitch that summarizes the value you can offer a potential employer, a marketing plan for your job search, and specific feedback on your interviewing skills.

Once you sign-up, we’ll send you the complete set of CareerMoxie Guidebooks, and a link to complete your DISC Profile. Your first assignment before we begin will be to complete the DISC Profile online and watch the DISC Profile presentation that explains your results.

We’ll begin the process by finding out all about YOU so we can design a program that addresses your specific career challenges. First, we’ll discuss where you are in your career. Are you just starting out? Are you unemployed and looking? Are you employed but unhappy in your present position? Are you returning to the workforce after an absence? Are you considering a career change? Then, we’ll talk through the challenges you’re currently facing in job search so we can make a plan to overcome them. And we’ll use the DISC profile to better understand your preferred work style and settings. 

Homework assignment: Complete the Reveal Your Moxie Guidebook

We’ll review your completed Reveal Your Moxie Guidebook to assess your motivators and turnoffs, your values, your priorities and goals, and your strengths and weaknesses. Together, we’ll use the STAR method to build your accomplishment stories that will be used on your resume and in interviews, and we’ll identify the skills and personal characteristics that make you uniquely YOU. At the conclusion of this session, you’ll have a professional objective that states the kind of work that you wish to do, based on who you are, what you know and what you do.

Homework assignment: Prepare a draft resume.

This session is all about getting your resume in tip-top shape. We’ll work with you to build your resume from scratch or re-build the resume you’re currently using, incorporating what you prepared in your last homework assignment. We’ll use the Present With Moxie Guidebook to work through your resume together to edit, fix, and tweak your presentation to make it the best it can be. At the conclusion of this session, you’ll have a polished, professional resume that you can unleash on the world.

Homework assignment: Read the Market With Moxie Guidebook

Using the Market With Moxie Guidebook, we’ll work with you to perfect your elevator pitch and to create your personalized marketing plan for your job search. We’ll review your LinkedIn profile, or set one up with you if you don’t have one already, and we’ll show you how to use LinkedIn to help you promote yourself and learn about job opportunities. We’ll also discuss working with recruiters and how to ensure you’re working with those who can be a true advocate for you to potential employers. And we’ll revisit those job search challenges discussed in our first session and incorporate a plan to conquer them. At the conclusion of this session, you’ll have a complete marketing plan to guide your job search, an updated LinkedIn profile showcasing your expertise, and an elevator pitch that you can use to clearly and succinctly describe the value you have to offer potential employers.

Homework assignment: Read the Interview with Moxie Guidebook, and review your accomplishment stories from Reveal Your Moxie and your resume.

We’ll prepare you for your next interview by working through how best to articulate your experience, how to answer the dreaded strengths and weaknesses questions, and how to address any liabilities in your professional background. We’ll conduct an actual interview with you, using your resume and a job description for a position you’re interested in or are scheduled to interview for, and we’ll provide advice and guidance to help you make a more powerful presentation. At the conclusion of this session, you’ll have all the tools you need to walk into your next interview with poise and confidence, and nail it!
